چکیده

We have established a compact and transportable I2-stabilized Nd:YAG laser for international comparisons of laser frequency. The root Allan variance of the portable laser has reached 3 9 10 14 when the integration time is longer than 200 s. The results of an international comparison between the National Research Laboratory of Metrology (NRLM), Tsukuba, Japan and the JILA (formerly the Joint Institute for Laboratory Astrophysics), Boulder, CO, USA show that the frequency difference of the portable laser NRLM-Y1 and the JILA laser JILA-W ( NRLM-Y1 JILA-W) was 2 5 kHz, when the cold-finger temperatures of NRLM-Y1 and JILA-W were kept at 10 C and 15 C, respectively. The averaged frequency offset between two NRLM lasers ( NRLM-Y1 NRLM-Y2) was 1 1 kHz. A frequency variation of about 1.2 kHz was found for the frequency offset between two NRLM lasers, after NRLM-Y1 was taken for a round trip to Sydney for a comparison organized by the National Measurement Laboratory, (NML), Australia.

Stabilization and frequency measurement of the I2-stabilized Nd: YAG laser

We report improved stabilization results for and progress toward a more accurate frequency measurement of the 532 nm iodine-stabilized system based on a frequency-doubled Nd : YAG ring laser. We confirm the CCL-adopted frequency well within its stated uncertainty ( 40 kHz).

Characterization of Nd: Yag Laser Radiation Effects on Ti6Al4V Physico-Chemical Properties: An In Vivo Study

The effect of a Nd: YAG laser (1064 nm) has been studied on Ti6Al4V alloy in terms of optical and physical parameters for biomedical applications. The superior surface microhardness hardness (i.e. 377 VHN) is attributed to grain refinement associated with laser melting and rapid solidification. The electrochemical property, mainly pitting corrosion resistance, has been carried out in Hanks salt...

Cryotherapy is more effective and faster than Q-switched Nd-YAG laser fordepigmentation in universal vitiligo patients

Background: Although cryotherapy has been reported as atechnique for depigmenting residual pigmented patches inpatients with universal vitiligo, Q-switched Nd-YAG lasershave not yet been used for this purpose. The aim of this studywas to compare the efficacy of cryotherapy with that of 532nmQ-switched Nd-YAG laser therapy for depigmentation in patientswith universal vitiligo.Method: Six adult p...

Influence of shielding gas composition on weld structure in pulsed Nd: YAG laser welding

This work studied the effect of additions of carbon dioxide to argon shielding gas on the weld shape and microstructure of ST14 steel in pulsed Nd: YAG laser welding. By additions of carbon dioxide up to 15%,the weld area and depth/width ratio decreases while rising of carbon dioxide up to 25% causes increasing of weld area and depth/width ratio. It is observed that the weld metal microstructur...
